Guru Sahib's sacrifice was for humanity; the Punjab government will spread his inspiration to every person—Maan. (X)
Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab organized a grand Kirtan Darbar at Gurudwara Sri Rakabganj Sahib in Delhi on Saturday to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with other dignitaries from the Punjab government, participated in this sacred Kirtan Darbar.
Kejriwal listened to the entire Kirtan with great devotion. He tweeted, "I bowed at the feet of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and received his blessings by participating in the sacred Kirtan Darbar organized at Gurudwara Sri Rakabganj Sahib on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. His sacrifice will continue to inspire us for centuries to come to protect truth, righteousness, and humanity."
On this auspicious occasion, Arvind Kejriwal said, "I believe there is no parallel in the history of humanity to the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The kind of martyrdom he demonstrated inspires all humanity to sacrifice our lives for others." He is also known as Hind Di Chadar. Kashmiri Pandits came to him and told him how the Mughal rulers of that time were attacking and invading the religion of those Kashmiri Pandits. To save those Kashmiri Pandits, Guru Ji Maharaj sacrificed everything and made the supreme sacrifice.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the Punjab government is organizing numerous programs in various parts of Punjab for a month to honor Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and to pay homage to his martyrdom, and this program began on Saturday in Delhi. On this occasion, I invite the people of Delhi, the country, and the world to participate in as many programs as possible in Punjab. Let us all draw inspiration from Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's martyrdom, respect his sacrifice, and pay homage to him.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that today the main function commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has begun at the historic Gurdwara Sahib Rakabganj. Starting from October 25th and ending on November 25th, the Punjab government will visit all the places where Guru Sahib's feet touched. During this period, great kirtan groups will perform divine kirtans, and the story of Guru Sahib's martyrdom will be taught in schools and included in the syllabus. The villages where Guru Sahib's feet touched have already been contacted, and funds have been released for their development.
Bhagwant Mann said that this gathering is being held in Delhi with the permission of the Sangat, as Lakhi Shah Banjara sheltered Guru Sahib in his home there. Bhai Jaita Ji then carried Guru Sahib's head to Anandpur Sahib on a stormy night. Paying tribute to Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das, and Bhai Dayala Ji, Bhagwant Mann said that Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom was not only for the Sikhs but also for humanity and human rights. Such an example is unparalleled anywhere.
Bhagwant Mann stated that the Punjab government will organize congregations throughout the month in Srinagar, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Bathinda, and other places where Guru Sahib's feet touched. On November 25th, a grand congregation will be held in Anandpur Sahib, the city founded by Guru Sahib. Kirtan will be held, and great saints like Baba Balveer Singh Ji will be present. A grand museum has been created in Anandpur Sahib, showcasing the journey undertaken by Bhai Jaita Ji carrying Guru Sahib's head and the event of presenting the head to Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Bhagwant Mann stated that Sikhism is the world's newest and most vibrant religion, whose philosophy is to give to others and pave the way for everyone. Pilgrims walking on the Nishan Sahib Yatra receive langar and accommodation. There is no discrimination in Sikhism; God has created everyone equal. He thanked the Sangat and Arvind Kejriwal for attending the congregation. He stated that after November 25th, another congregation will be held in Chandni Chowk, the site of Guru Sahib's martyrdom.
Bhagwant Mann said that a budget has been allocated for road construction and infrastructure at Guru Sahib's shrines. A separate budget has been set aside for the 350th martyrdom day, and a tent city is being built at Anandpur Sahib. Invitations have been sent to all the Chief Ministers of the country, and an appointment has been made to meet the President on Monday.
Bhagwant Mann said that the Sikh community has earned a reputation worldwide through hard work and the grace of God. Referring to the 10th article of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, he said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's sacrifice and self-denial are unparalleled. Bhai Mati Das Ji was put on a Charkhi (charkhi), Bhai Sati Das was boiled, but Guru Sahib Ji sacrificed his life for the love of God and humanity. No one goes to light a lamp at Aurangzeb's tomb, but in Anandpur Sahib, the city of the Guru, the line of devotees never breaks. This is the difference.
Bhagwant Mann said that listening to kirtan and visiting this holy place brings peace and tranquility to the soul. This tribute is being paid even under the shadow of the law, sitting on the streets. For the first time, tribute was paid to Guru Sahib in Parliament as well. His sacrifice was not for personal gain, but for humanity and humanity. He appealed to the Sangat to visit Anandpur Sahib from Delhi, have darshan, and follow the path shown by Guru Sahib. Leave social evils and conflicts and devote themselves to the power and service of God.
Bhagwant Mann said that the people of Punjab will continue to take opportunities to serve and will continue to pay tribute to Guru Sahib.
